Hardware Requirements for Production

Distributed Server Environment

The requirements mentioned below are applicable when Database and Application Server (where IIS is running) are running on different servers.

Hardware Requirements for Evaluation Environment

The requirements mentioned below are applicable only for evaluation purpose. This configuration is not recommended for performance measurement of the system. In the evaluation mode, either the single server or the distributed server configurations can be used.

Memory Recommended 32 GB memory
Disk Space Recommended 200 GB free disk space

Software Requirements

Operating System
  • Microsoft® Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012 R2 and 2016.
  • For Windows the IIS and its components need to be configured under the Roles and Features.

Optional: For Email Notification, you can use IIS/SMTP or you can configure it with your mail server, only after installing the Kovair application.
Database
  • Microsoft® SQL Server 2008 R2 (SP1) / 2012 / 2014 / 2016 Developer, Standard or Enterprise Edition.
SQL Server Prerequisites:
  • SQL Server Integration Services components
  • Server Component: Full Text Search
  • Language: English (United States)
  • Server Collation: SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_Cl_AS
Kovair Application Prerequisites:
  • SQL user account with the privileges of a ‘db_creator’ server role and ‘db_admin’ database role.
  • Current System Locale: English (United States)
  • Servers Short Date Format should be M/d/yyyy
  • Server long Data Format should be DD-MM-YYYY
  • Server Short Time Format should be h:mm tt
  • Server long Time Format should be h:mm:ss tt
Kovair Recommendation:
  • On Database Server, there should be two different hard drives for installing data file and log file separately.
Microsoft®.NET Framework 4.6 or Above (Full Version).
Microsoft Word Microsoft Word 2013, Word 2016.
Optional: This is only required if you opt for Word Import or Word Report.
Browser Google Chrome (Recommended – the latest).
