Magic Quadrant for Application Life Cycle Management (Section 508 Compliance)

Tools in the ADLM space offer mixed support for Section 508. This is especially true for browser-based tools, which find challenges in the facilities exposed by various browsers and rich-client browser toolkits. For entities that require Section 508 compliance, or that are seeking tools that support accessibility, the best support is currently offered by Kovair, Microsoft and other vendors provide partial support.

About Gartner’s Cool Vendors Selection Process

Gartner’s listing does not constitute an exhaustive list of vendors in any given technology area, but rather is designed to highlight interesting, new and innovative vendors, products and services. Gartner disclaims all warranties, expressed or implied, with respect to this research, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness of a particular purpose.

Gartner defines a cool vendor as a company that offers technologies or solutions that are: Innovative, enable users to do things they couldn’t do before; Impactful, have, or will have, business impact (not just technology for the sake of technology); Intriguing, have caught Gartner’s interest or curiosity in approximately the past six months.

The Forrester Wave™: Application Life-Cycle Management, Q4 2012

ALM vendors have acknowledged the inevitability of integration with othercommercial and open source tools. Some vendors provide an application programming interface (API) with few or no prebuilt connectors. Others provide plenty of connectors, with perhaps a weaker API for custom-built integrations. The fact that small companies, such as Kovair has established themselves as third-party providers of ALM connectors is a testament to the weaknesses of the overall ALM market’s integration efforts.

Criteria and the thought process for the selections

The SD Times 100 looked for companies that have determined a direction that developers followed. Did the company set the industry agenda? Did its products and services advance the software development art? Were its competitors nervously tracking its moves? Were programmers anxiously awaiting its developments? Those qualities mark a leader.

We are very gratified to report that Kovair is mentioned in both these reports as an ALM Vendor along with others. This is a result of our continued efforts and belief in enhancing the ALM ecosystem with our own functional domains as well as our integrations with more than a dozen other best of breed tools
