The client management wanted to not only get the requisite dataset migrated successfully within a very short timeline of ~2 months but also to obtain the full report from the migration tool. This was deemed to minimize any manual effort of migration-related data sanity checks once the entire migration was completed.

1. Importing AD Users: The existing active directory users of the client organization did not have access to the Azure DevOps organizations. Kovair had to complete the cumbersome job of mapping and migrating those users into ADO.

Foster User Satisfaction: Every to-be-transferred project went through parallel phases of configuration that included the steps of field and artefact mapping, data migration and data validation post-migration (from multiple hosts). Initially, the client performed PoC with two small projects in their staging environment and once they were satisfied with the (pilot project phase) outcome, migration of production data was executed. - Who was Kovair’s Data Integration Client?
Our client is a major global financial organization based in Washington D. C., USA. Before this data migration project initiation, the client was using Micro Focus ALM to manage their requirements and QA activities.
- What was the Business Need of the Client?
Based on organization-wide changes in their internal software development processes and policies, the client decided to stop working on Micro Focus ALM and shift to the Microsoft Azure DevOps tool.
This envisioning brought to light the necessity of consolidating the existing Micro Focus ALM data into Azure DevOps in the form of a value-added activity. Additionally, Azure DevOps was utilized by some of the client’s larger teams, viz. the International Finance team and PLM, for internal processes. The Azure DevOps pipeline was utilized by the organization to maintain their releases and deployments.
