The client management wanted to get the requisite dataset migrated successfully within a very short timeline of approximately one month. The following are the key pointers from this migration project’s resounding success:
1. Taking Care of 20 Projects’ Legacy Data: The client could rest easy knowing that all relevant projects’ data was migrated successfully by using Kovair QuickSync. The Kovair team thoroughly verified the sanity of the transferred data. Following source and target data validation, Kovair re-migrated any (< 0.1%) erroneous/remaining items. Therefore, any data loss was prevented during the second pass and 100% of the data was accurately migrated.

3. Successful PoC Execution for Client Satisfaction: Each project that was to be transferred underwent concurrent configuration phases, which comprised field and artifact mapping, data migration, and post-migration data validation (from multiple hosts).
Production data was migrated after the customer was satisfied with the Proof of Concept (PoC) results, which they initially had achieved through a small project deployed in their staging environment.
4. Importing of Existing AD Users: The client organization’s current active directory users were unable to access the Azure DevOps organizations. The laborious task of mapping and transferring such user info into Azure DevOps had to be finished by Kovair.

Our client was a major regional bank in Columbus, Georgia, USA. Prior to this data migration project initiation, the client was using Micro Focus ALM (v12.53) to manage their requirements and QA activities.
- What was the Business Need of the Client?
Based on organization-wide changes in their internal software development processes and policies, the client decided to stop working on Micro Focus ALM and shift onto Microsoft Azure DevOps.
The client also wanted to synchronize the records that were entered in Micro Focus ALM during migration. This syncing was to be done after the entire migration was over. The client was looking for a company possessing the necessary knowledge and experience to design and implement a workable and affordable solution, that would successfully lead the organization through the entirety of the migration process for several projects.
To maintain the hierarchy and relationships of the associated migration record(s) across artefacts, the necessity of creating a virtual bridge between Micro Focus ALM and Azure DevOps was visualized and brought into existence.

For the execution of this legacy data migration project, the client had previously attempted to hire a sizable and well-known Indian services company. This company was unable to come up with a viable solution though.
