Versioning of requirements aims at providing access to the specific change states of individual requirements over the course of a lifecycle. A version of a requirement gets defined by its specific content of the change state and is marked by a unique version number.
- Step 1: In Kovair users can right click on any Requirement and say Reuse
- Step 2: Once Reuse is pressed it opens up a screen with the options of cloning and branching
The user can give a name to the branch that is getting created. Once this branch is created the newly created record can be related with different release or project. These relations can be established during the creation of branch or at a later stage. Once the branch is created the version diagram of the source or derived Requirement allows users to view the entire path.
The red line in the picture denotes that at a certain point the version 1 of the branched requirement got merged with the original requirement and after merging some versions are created out of the original version.
Cloning of a Requirement breaks the link between the derived requirement and the source or original requirement. Kovair not only allow cloning the record but also allows users to clone the relationships using different options. Kovair also allows users to clone the relationships in selective manner.Step 1: In Kovair users can right click on any Requirement and say Reuse Step 2: Once Reuse is pressed it opens up a screen with the options of cloning and branching
