Bipin Shah, Chairman & CEO

Bipin Shah has a strong record of accomplishment as a senior executive and as a successful early stage investor in more than a dozen companies. President and CEO of Kovair Software from late 2002, he assumed the role of CEO and Chairman of Kovair in August 2005. After a varied career at Fairchild Semiconductor where he held Engineering, Manufacturing and Business Unit Management responsibility, Bipin joined Altera Corporation, a leading manufacturer of programmable logic devices at its early inception in 1984. As a member of Altera’s executive management team, he held positions of VP, Operations and President of Altera Japan, and was operationally responsible for revenue growth from zero to over $500 million run rate in 1994, and participated in Altera’s IPO in 1989. From 1997 to 1999, Bipin served as President and CEO of a chip startup Invox Technology, whose multi-level Flash memory technology was acquired by SanDisk Corporation. Between the years 2000 and 2005, Bipin was a co-founder and general partner of an early stage venture investment fund, INC3 Ventures based in Silicon Valley.

Bipin currently serves on the Boards of three start up companies, and has previously served on the Boards of more than ten venture capital backed companies. Bipin holds a MS degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a BEE (Honors) from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India.

Sabyasachi “Sky" Basu, CTO & Vice President"

At Kovair Sky is responsible for product direction, services and customer interfaces. Sky Basu was founding CEO of Speedev, continuing in that capacity from 2000 – 2005. After the merger with Kovair, Sky assumed his current role of CTO and President of Kovair Software. After raising the initial VC funding for Speedev, he led the development and launch of the most comprehensive 3rd generation Application Lifecycle Management system in the market, gaining over 50 customers while steering the company through the post dotcom economic downturn. Prior to founding Speedev, Sky was CTO and Founder of AgniRoth Consulting, a boutique consulting firm. Prior to AgniRoth, Sky founded Temple Private Ltd. in 1986, one of the earliest offshore software development firms doing product development and outsourced consulting projects. Through his efforts, Temple was acquired by The Magus Group in 1995.

In his 20-year plus career, Sky has worked extensively in the Internet arena, delivering mission-critical applications for Fortune 500 companies and government agencies, and developed several successful products. His innovative ideas and real-world solutions have led to several patents and awards. He holds a B. Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology and a MS from the Indian Statistical Institute.

Atanu Majumdar, VP, Engineering

Atanu is responsible for all of Kovair’s product development, test, quality and support activities. Atanu Majumdar was a co-founder of Speedev, and headed its software engineering team. Since its merger with Kovair Software, Atanu has been VP of Engineering for Kovair. Prior to Speedev, Atanu joined AgniRoth in 1996, where his mastery of multiple technologies and design and building of scalable system architectures won clients’ praise and an award from Microsoft. At AgniRoth, he created several of their 'Best Practices,' and was project manager and senior developer for many Silicon Valley organizations including HP, Adaptec, Stanford University and USWeb. Prior to AgniRoth he was a software engineer at Temple Private Ltd. Atanu has over 15 years of experience in software design, architecture and IT project management. Atanu graduated at the top of his class with a B. Tech in Computer Science from Calcutta University, where he also completed a B.S. in Physics.

Raj Mashruwala

Mr. Raj Mashruwala recently retired from TIBCO Software Inc. as an Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. TIBCO Software, based in Palo Alto California, was founded in 1997 and did its initial public offering in July of 1999 (NASDAX: TIBX). For the fiscal year ending October 2009, TIBCO Software had annual revenue of USD 621M. Since the founding of TIBCO, Mr. Mashruwala built and led the worldwide sales and marketing operations. As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Mashruwala was also responsible for Engineering, Professional and Support Services.
Prior to joining TIBCO, Raj Mashruwala co-founded YieldUp International, a semiconductor equipment manufacturing company, Media Computer Technology Inc., a multimedia PC Bus company and Consilium Inc., a Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) software provider. Mr. Mashruwala led Consilium’s R&D and Professional Services Operations since the company’s inception.
Mr. Mashruwala serves on the board of Mastek, Inc., an IT service company listed on the Indian stock exchange, Guavus Networks, a real time analytics startup and Kovair Software, a privately held company based in the SF/Bay Area. Mr. Mashruwala is an active angel investor through Mashruwala Investments and is a mentor/advisor to several early startup ventures.
Mr. Mashruwala holds a Master of Science (Engineering) degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Technology (Mechanical) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He is the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from IIT Bombay in 2002.
Mr. Mashruwala holds several patents on Object Oriented Modeling for Manufacturing Systems.
He currently serves on the Technical Committee of the UID Authority of India – Unique ID for every citizen of India, led by Nandan Nilekani, former CEO of Infosys, a major global IT Services company.

Sridar Iyengar, Independent Director, Infosys Technologies

Sridar is an independent mentor investor in early stage start-ups and companies. For more than 35 years, he has worked in the U.K., U.S. and India with a large number of companies, advising them on strategy and other issues.
Sridar is the President of Foundation for Democratic Reforms in India, a U.S.-based non-profit organization. He is also an advisor to several venture and private equity funds in India.
Earlier, Sridar was a senior partner with KPMG in the U.S. and U.K. and served for three years as the Chairman and CEO of KPMG's operations in India.
Sridar holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree from the University of Calcutta and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
