Requirements Traceability is related to documenting the life of a Requirement and to providing bi-directional traceability between various associated Requirements, i.e., the traceability chains can be traced in both forwards and backwards directions. It enables users to determine the start of each Requirement, track any changes made and track the relationship between each product level requirement and its source. Requirement traceabilitythereby ensures the right products are built at each stage of the life cycle.

Allows multiple types of relationships, including 'custom', between Requirements
Establishes cross-tool traceability relationships, visibility and process automation.
Creates logical links ("depending, affecting and bi-directional") between requirements that can be viewed through a number of visualizing tools: Traceability Hierarchy Report, Traceability Matrix and Traceability Relationship Network Diagrams (the diagrams are provided below).
Generates both proactive and reactive impact analyses.
Automatically forwards the impact of changes to stakeholders to ensure synchronization and prompt undertaking of corrective actions so that problems are addressed early to minimize cost of changes at the end of the life cycle.

Traceability Matrix View shows the relation between the Requirements (and other Entities if they are defined) in a grid format. This view not only shows the relationship, but one can create and manage these relationship directly from view too.

Traceability Relationship Network View shows the relation between the Requirements (and other Entities if they are defined) in a network diagram format. This view not only shows the relationship, but one can create and manage these relationship directly from view too.
